How do you feel the election of Barack Obama will impact Islam in America?

Barack Obama attended an Islamic school growing up in Indonesia and his father was a Muslim.
Obama’s experience within Islam as a boy should give him a unique perspective into Islam unlike any other U.S. President.
How do you feel the election of Barack Obama will impact Islam in America?

I had just written a comprehensive post here but decided to delete it. I had not realized you are another person in the world who thinks you know what is “wrong” with Islam. Claiming that Islam is a christ-less religion. Please do some research on Islam and find out what Islam teaches about Jesus(Isa A.S.) Peace be upon him.
I don’t mean to offend you if I have. Please leave my religion alone as I leave yours and everyone else’s alone. Worship whatever you want to worship, practice whatever it is you want to practice. That is how I feel and live my life. Please consider doing the same. There is enough people out in the world criticizing each others beliefs and stating they have the answers. Please don’t be like that. It only causes more division, animosity and religious intolerance. Do what you do and leaves others to do what they do. We should all have this goal.
One last thing, just because there are many people in the world doing terrible things in the name of Islam, does not mean all muslim are like that neither does it mean that Islam teaches whatever it is they are doing. The same goes for all religions, groups and etc..

I never stated that Islam was a “christ-less” religion. It’s of the spirit of the anti-christ. I say this because of what my holy book says,
“Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also.” (I John 2:22-23; 4:2-3)
You might be interested to know that I teach a class about what the Quran says about Jesus. I’d encourage you to read what it says and think about how wonderous Jesus is. I mean really take the time to read the words and think about what they mean.
I agree with you that what people do doesn’t always reflect what the teachings are of their stated religion.
One last point, it is the Muslim leaders who denigrate my religion by stating that Jesus is merely a prophet. Yes, he is a prophet “mighty in word and deed” but He is more than a prophet. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is the sinless Son of God. And he was crucified and rose from the dead, and recieved great honor. The Muslim leaders seek to dishonor Jesus by denying these truths about Him and teaching others to speak out against who Jesus really is.
I wish you the best and don’t intend to argue with you in any way, but some of what you have said to me indicates that you misunderstood some of my previous posts.
I pray that God’s greatest blessing would be upon you and your family.

I too pray that God’s greatest blessings would be upon you and your family. I too will not argue with you. However I too feel you misunderstood what I attempted to say and you also misunderstand my religion. So let’s just agree to disagree as what your beliefs state I do not agree with and you don’t agree with mine. So i wish you the best in life and religious beliefs. I do have to ask you as well as all people of all religions in this world including mine. We should do what we do, practice and worship what we do and leave others be.

There won’t be a Muslim-extremist bombing in America during Obama’s time in office, that’s for sure.
As to the man, to get to where he is, facing the hardships in his life, he is by far the most qualified man for the job. He had to be so much better than any white guys competing with him throughout his life. It is beyond affirmitive-action since the position he got to is of such high importance. Many people when faced with hardships bow out since the climb is so high, but not him. Americans finally made the right choice. There may be disappointment to those that expect the black man to get it all now, since equality can not be given by going extreme in the other direction. Obama knows this, and it adds to his qualities. He is the best speaker of our time and that helps on the world stage. There is much rebuilding to do to win back the respect that was so lost during the Bush terms, but Obama is on the right track.

on the generic religion topic, faith is all that is needed, religion may add to faith but can also detract
someone going to church can see God from a distance and never feel connected during prayer, to be talked down to by religious authority figures, whether in robes or in normal attire, does not do well to affirm the person
hope and love are the keys to life and are found through connection with a Higher Power, irregardless of specifically what God is, as long as the person does not believe he or she is the one that runs the show
looking for specifics is the fault of the modern-day, just like religious wars were in the past and their extension to the modern, the source is what an individual person believes
the specific answer is that there is no specific answer, for the human can never know the workings of God, since God extends all, science, rationality, logic in a manner that we cannot comprehend since only God can, us trying to comprehend God’s work is the imposition of our will before God’s, and it is considered a sin in religious context but looking at it another way, it is a great waste of time, why attempt to control something that isn’t within our power to control? what, people, places or things? there is no control over them, they might hand us power over them since they do not want to take responsibility for their own actions, but at the end of the day, they own it
